How it works
The trace is drawn live in your browser from the master output tap. Nothing is uploaded or recorded. Levels are reported in dBFS, relative to full scale.
An oscilloscope is the simplest honest view of audio: amplitude plotted against time. Use it to confirm a tone is clean, to see clipping, or to compare left and right channels sample by sample.
Time-domain trace
The built-in test sine gives you a known-good signal. Play it and confirm the trace is a smooth, symmetric wave crossing zero evenly. Switch channels to confirm both sides carry the signal.
Time-base and gain
Time-base changes the visible cycle count without touching the sound. Gain zooms the trace vertically for small signals. Pause freezes the trace for inspection, and every state is announced as text for keyboard and screen-reader users.

What does the oscilloscope show?
It draws the raw waveform amplitude over time. A sine renders as a smooth repeating wave, clipping flattens the tops, and noise looks jagged.
What does the time-base do?
The time-base sets how much time fits on screen. Shorter values spread a few cycles wide; longer values compress many cycles together.
What does gain do?
Gain scales the trace vertically for inspection. It does not change the audio level, only the drawing.
Is there a text readout?
Yes. The readout above the trace always states the test frequency, time-base, gain, and measured peak in dBFS, relative to full scale.
