Privacy · your audio never leaves
Audio Tests Online runs entirely client-side. Test signals are synthesized in your browser with the Web Audio API. No audio is recorded, uploaded, or transmitted anywhere — there is no server processing to send it to.
What stays in your browser
Test results and preferences (for example your last hearing walk or localization score) are stored in your browser's localStorage only. Clearing site data or using the on-page reset buttons removes them. Nothing syncs to an account, because there are no accounts.
Microphone tools
Microphone-based tools request permission only when you start them, process the signal locally, and never upload it. Denying permission only disables those tools — everything else keeps working.
Analytics and third parties
Fonts are self-hosted, and the tests themselves load no third-party code. To see which tests are actually used, the live site loads Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC): it records page views, the page you arrived from, and coarse device and location information derived from your IP address. It never receives your audio, your microphone input, or your test results. Any tracker blocker stops it, and every test keeps working without it.
Affiliate links
Some outbound gear links may be affiliate links, disclosed where they appear and on thesupport page. Clicking one may tell the retailer you came from here — that is between you and the retailer.
